with a particular focus on public interest and investigative journalism. TMF

society.
Hivos Tanzania, which manages TMF,
is currently looking for top-notch professionals to fill the following
positions at Tanzania Media Fund
COMMUNICATION
SPECIALIST
Job summary
As a communication specialist, you
will be responsible for all communication functions at TMF including preparing
public and donor reports; developing and implementing communication strategy;
supporting grant programme in terms of effective communications to grants; and
planning and implementing outreach programme
Competencies
and experience
·
Analytical
capabilities, able to analyse information/proposals efficiently and effectively
·
Accurate
administrative skills
·
Experience
within the Media sector and communication experience (at least 3 years)
·
Proven
experience with website management and applying new media for corporate
communication purposes
·
General
knowledge of different development issues; e.g. gender, HIV/AIDS and rural development
· Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in both
English and Swahili
· Good eye for graphics, design and images
Minimum
education
At least a diploma in journalism,
mass communications and/or public relations
GRANT
MONITORING SPECIALIST
Job summary
Reporting to the Grant Manager, the
Grant Monitoring Specialist will primarily be responsible for ensuring proper
grant making process through close supervision and monitoring of grantees work.
He/she will be responsible for implementation of institutional grants portfolio
and to ensure that TMF Grants Management System is operated efficiently and
effectively

MANAGEMENT
ACCOUNTANT
Job summary
Reporting to Senior Finance and
Administration Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing effective
and efficient financial management controls within the context of the project
document and donor requirements. In addition, you will support project staff in
planning, budgeting and managing budgets.
Key
Accountabilities:
Supporting project staff in preparation of annual plans and
budgets and ensure that they are in line with project document, preparation of
monthly budget realization reports and variance analysis, assist in preparation
of cash-flows, conduct financial management training to non-financial staff and
assess financial management capacity of the grantees and recommend areas of
improvement as appropriate
Competencies
and experience
The Management Accountant must have
proven interpersonal both oral and written communication skills; highly
numerate and problem solving skills as well as a good team player. Excellent
knowledge and skills in using computerized accounting systems. Ability to work under minimum supervision and
result oriented. Ability in using Microsoft Excel to analyse, interpret and
present financial information to decision makers and knowledge of international
donor reporting and risk management is essential. At least 3 years of
experience in a senior position in a major organisation is required.

Qualities
The position requires a creative and
innovative person with high integrity; able to work effectively in a diverse
team environment and sometimes under pressing deadlines.
Minimum
Education/Qualification
Holder of Advanced Diploma or
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent qualification. Possession of
CPA/ACCA/CIMA will be added advantage.
